Welcome to Country Threads, a quilt shop in Iowa located in a renovated chicken coop and one of Iowa’s premier shopping destinations.  Country Threads has been designing quilt patterns since 1983 and has seen many trends in quilting come and go.  Our website is a new avenue to share the country life, pets, gardens and quilt camps along with the newest quilt patterns, fabric kits and news from the farm.

Our quilt shop in Iowa has grown over the years to include all supplies needed to make a quilt as well as patterns for original country quilts by Connie and Mary, two of Iowa’s longtime quilt designers.  If you can’t visit Country Threads in person, please shop online to get the newest quilt patterns, fabric kits and punchneedle projects. Our best selling book, Rugs From Rags, gives complete instructions for rug weaving using fabric strips. Don’t forget to sign up for our free email newsletter sent weekly from our quilt shop in Iowa.  The paper newsletter called the Goat Gazette is published 4 times per year for a nominal subscription fee.  This newsletter contains pictures of the farm, the staff, new patterns in the quilt shop and all the goat news.
